Remember where that two-step-wide boulder was? Go to it and use Strength to get it out of the way. Go north to battle a Backpacker (the Swadloon one), then continue further north to find TM66 (Payback). You'll also find a Charcoal to the east of here between the fence and the trees. Return to the first fence opening and go north to battle another Backpacker. Then continue north into Lostlorn Forest.

When you enter, go north to the tree stump and you'll find a Big Mushroom. Further north is a backpacker, claiming there is a recluse woman in the camper.
Now, if you brought the event Shiny Entei/Raikou/Suicune (which one won't matter) over via the Relocator (or later on via Poke Transfer), and bring it with you, and then enter the camper, the woman will show her true form as you try to enter -- she is really the illusionary Pokemon Zoroark! This event is one-time (I think - I caught on the first try), so save before trying this.
Other than this and some Pokemon, that'll be it. Return to Route 16.

Go to the Pokemon Center and heal your Pokemon. Then leave to the northwest, onto Route 5.

As you enter Route 5, you will meet and battle Cheren.

As for | | the other two, either one of them should be able to handle it. | |____________________________________________________________________________|
After the battle, Elesa will show up and show you to Alder. This person is the current Champion of the Unova Pokemon League; after obtaining all eight badges, he is the person you will defeat after defeating the Elite Four (or so you may think).
After some talking, your party is healed and you'll battle two Preschoolers, with Cheren as your partner; the kids each use a Lv. 26 Herdier (Normal-type).
After this, go near the camper east of you and battle the Baker. Go into the camper and speak with the woman inside. If you have a Mushroom-kind of item (ie. Tinymushroom), you can give to this woman for more money than you'd get at a Pokemart.
Leave the camper and go south. Get into the gap between the fence and trees and follow the path to a Hyper Potion. Return to the camper and go northeast to battle a Backpacker. Pick up the nearby Great Ball afterwards and continue along the grass westwardly until you find another Backpacker. Battle and defeat him, then grab the nearby Revive. Go through the thicker grass and grab the Zinc. Then hop off of the ledge and battle the four trainers left on the main road.
Once you're done here, go west to Elesa and she'll call Driftveil's Gym Leader, Clay, to lower the drawbridge. Once it's lowered, get onto the bridge.
Driftveil Drawbridge
____________________________________________________________________________ | Pokemon | Pokemon Type | Level Range | Encounter Method | |----------------+----------------------+---------------+--------------------| | Ducklett | Water/Flying | 22 to 25 | Shadows | |============================================================================| | Trainers' Pokemon: There aren't any to battle in this location. | |____________________________________________________________________________|
As you travel west across the bridge, you'll probably here a weird flapping sound. That means that, somewhere on this bridge, a shadow has appeared. You can go into the shadow to grab a Wing (that usually raises the user's EVs in a stat) or, occasionally, to battle a Ducklett.
There isn't anything else worth mentioning, so continue west into Driftveil.
Driftveil City
____________________________________________________________________________ | Pokemon | Pokemon Type | Level Range | Encounter Method | |----------------+----------------------+---------------+--------------------| | There aren't any wild Pokemon to be found here at this time. | |============================================================================| | Trainers' Pokemon: Krokorok Lv. 27, Zebstrika Lv. 27, Basculin Lv. 27 | |____________________________________________________________________________|
When you arrive, go west and past the statue. You'll eventually run into Cheren and the Driftveil City Gym Leader, Clay. Clay says that some Team Plasma members he'd caught escaped as he lowered the drawbridge for you. As such, you are morally obligated to catch them. (Or you just want the levels.)
After the conversation ends, go west and into a house. Speaking with the blue haired guy will let you teach a Snivy/Servine/Serperior the move Grass Pledge; an Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott the move Water Pledge; or a Tepig/Pignite/Emboarthe move Fire Pledge. This move, when used together with another in a double or triple battle, something special supposedly happens. Other than that, it is a move of 50 Power and of the starter's type (which means, due to STAB, it is a 75-Power move). I guess it is fairly decent if your starter needs a move.
Go into the northeastern house and with the elderly man inside. If you have seen (not caught) 50 Pokemon, you'll be given a Shell Bell. This item will heal HP to the holder based on the damage it did on the previous turn (12.5%, to be exact). It is a pretty good item, I guess, with overly-powerful Pokemon. You can also do a trade in this house, with the Youngster:
O-----------O-------------------O---------------------------O | Version | Pokemon Desired | Pokemon Received | O-----------O-------------------O---------------------------O | Black | Minccino | Basculin (red-striped) | | White | Minccino | Basculin (blue-striped) | O-----------O-------------------O---------------------------O
The reason why I even note you of this trade is that you are given the Basculincoloration specific to the other version. (ie. Blue-striped Basculin are found only in Black Version.)
Exit the house and go west and into the Driftveil Marker. Inside, speak with the guy in sunglasses if you can show him a Lv. 30+ Pokemon and you will be given the Expert Belt (super-effective moves get a 20% power boost). You can also buy some items here. The only one I see as worth buying is the Moomoo Milk, an item that heals 100 HP. Good for those Pokemon that are too strong for battle-usage of Super Potions, but still so weak that using a Hyper Potion seems wasteful.
Leave the market and go to its west side. Speak with motorcyclist to learn of Rotation Battles. These are sort of 3-on-3 battles; however, only one Pokemon is active at a time, and only one on each side can be attacking/hurt at a time. You can rotate your Pokemon around to make one active, and still have it attack on the same turn. I believe you need three Pokemon or more for these. You can also challenge Charles here to one.
Go northeast of the market and you'll find the Pokemon Center. Heal your Pokemon there and go upstairs. Speak with the girl up there to get three Repeat Balls. They have a 3.0x catch rate versus the normal Poke Ball (1.5x versus the Ultra Ball) if it is used on a previously-caught species.
Leave and go into the house to the west of the Pokemon Center. If you show the lady inside a Pokemon with whatever move she asks for, you can get a Heart Scale. This occurs once daily. Go northwest of this house and into the trees' gap to find an Ultra Ball.
That'll be it for now, so go south to the Cold Storage.
Cold Storage

This item, when held, and the holder is hit with a Physical Attack such as Tackle or Vine Whip, will cause the attacker to lose 12.5% of their max HP. Go further east to battle a Youngster, and further east to battle another one.
Return to the beginning of the area and go south. Near the vending machine, use the Dowsing MCHN and you'll be able to find a hidden PP Up, which increases the maximum PP of a move by 20%. Go east and through the grass to find an Ether. Go further along to find a Worker and a Protein nearby.
After grabbing the Protein, go back west and south. As you go past the Worker, Cheren will show up. Go into the grass west of the building you are near and follow the path to find a Heart Scale. Return to the entrance of the building and go inside, with Cheren following.
After the quick talk, go up the stairs near the worker to the west, and grab the Net Ball. Return to ground level and go forward. You'll find an icy floor. If you've played a Pokemon game before, you know the mechanics of this. If you step onto the ice, you will keep going in the direction in which you stepped until you hit a object (or Trainer).
Begin by going up from the leftmost square, then right, and then down and you will find TM55 (Scald) - it is Water-type move that can Burn. Return to the start of the ice and use a different tile, then go right.
Battle and defeat the worker and go east across the ice patch. Go up the stairs to battle a Worker. Defeat him and you'll find another ice patch to the east. On it, go right, up, left, down. This will lead you to a set of crates, atop which you'll find another battle-able worker.
After defeating Filipe, go south and descend the stairs to battle another Worker. Grab the nearby Ice Heal and go north. Slide across the ice using one of the two westernmost tiles. Continue to n-n-n-north to a r-r-rather c-c-cold Worker. Battle and defeat him.
Northeast of this worker, you'll find a Hyper Potion. Go west to find an open crate. Try to enter and Cheren will appear. He'll ask if anyone is inside. Say "yes" and walk into the crate.
Inside, you'll find Zinzolin (a Team Plasma Sage) huddled with eight Grunts for warmth. After a bit of talking, you'll have to battle the four easternmost Grunts in the room. There are six Pokemon total here, though, so isn't too much to worry about.
After defeating the Grunts, Clay will barge in and have some Workers take away the Team Plasma members. He then tells you to come visit him in the Driftveil Gym.
After you regain control, pick up the MeverMeltIce in the northwestern corner of the crate (it boosts Ice moves by 20%).
That'll be it. Go up the stairway to the north, go south along it and across the easy-to-navigate ice patch, and exit. Outside, go east and north back into Driftveil City.

Go by the Pokemon Center and restore your party. Go to the northeastern part of the city and you'll find the Gym. Outside, Ghetsis eventually convinces Clay to free the captive Team Plasma members. Cheren soon decides to train his Pokemon before his own challenge against Clay.
As for you, go inside.

Inside, speak with the white-haired man to get a Fresh Water. Then go down into the mine (examine the down arrow).
This is the main part of the Driftveil City Gym. It mainly trains Pokemon of the Ground type. The Ground type is weak to Water, Grass, and Ice. It has a type-based advantage over Fire, Rock, Steel, Electric, and Poison. The Fire type particular is in trouble, because many Ground types are paired with the Rock or Water typings. And, finally, Ground types have an Electric immunity.
Go to the northern platform with the lit-up down button and use it to go down. Go east and battle the Worker, then use the nearby elevator to go down a floor. Use the northern elevator here to the north to battle another Worker. Go back down and go north, along the railing. Go west and south to find another Worker guarded by a Worker. Defeat him and go down. Go to the east next and defeat the Clerk, then take the nearby elevator down, then go up with the northern one. Here, back at the top floor, go north onto the railing and then east to battle another Clerk. Walk onto the elevator to the south and you'll soon reach Clay. Speak with him to start the battle.

After winning, you'll be given the Quake Badge, your sixth badge. The TM will wait until later -- he tells you to meet him in front of Chargestone Cave on Route 6. So exit the Gym.
